5 facts that prove the US economy stinks

OK, I admit it: I wasn’t being serious. Here are the top 5 myths about the U.S. economy:

Myth Number 5. The “need” for universal health insurance, or at least near-universal insurance for children.
Myth Number 4. America is de-industrializing, and manufacturing is dying.
Myth Number 3. We are in a recession (not heading for one, actually IN one).
Myth Number 2. Most people are just scraping by.
Myth Number 1. Income inequality is growing, the rich are getting richer, and they aren’t paying their fair share of taxes.

Be of good cheer!

Actually, number 5 is due to the Democrat’s much vaunted progressive income tax. Everyone understands that businesses pay no taxes but pass any taxes along in the goods or services they provide. The vast majority of rich people in the U.S. are business owners or senior level management that can also pass any increased taxes along as well. In essence, increasing taxes on the rich are merely designating the rich to do the government’s dirty work of collecting additional taxes from you and I.
